New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has apparently discovered an important rule of city politics:

Don’t mess with teacher unions.

After winning the support of the United Federation of Teachers during his mayoral campaign, Mamdani is now facing the union in court over teacher pay raises.

Some political fights require lawyers.

Others require rulers, protractors, staplers, and a Department of Education dodgeball.
